First Opinions- Maybelline FIT Me! Anti-shine Stick Foundation

Hey there!
So I thought I'd start doing a new thing, whenever I get a new product ( makeup, skincare etc.) I will write a blog post on my first opinions after I've used it once or twice, then I can go on to do a full review when I've used up quite a lot of it.
Good idea?
I hope so!

My first first opinions is going to be on the Maybelline FIT Me! Anti-shine Stick Foundation!
Okay so very first thing I notice, the name is a mouthful! But that's not really relevant haha

Packaging-
It's very sleek and fancy looking (partly the reason why I bought it!)

Shade-
I am in the shade 115 Ivory and it matches my skin tone pretty well.

Quantity-
You get a decent amount and I reckon this will last me for a while.

Coverage-
I knew this foundation wasn't meant to be the highest coverage but I guess I didn't quite understand how light coverage it was going to be, definitely not a foundation made to give you flawless skin.

Long lasting?-
This is reasonably long lasting for the fact it's not a foundation made to last a super duper long time, I can't really tell how long it fully stays for though.

Does it meet it's explanation?-
So far I am seeing ZILCH happening on the anti-shine promise. I put this on and if anything I am twice as shiny. I am pretty sure the point of this foundation is that you don't have to use  a powder and it has it built in...not too sure that's true.
Even when I apply my Rimmel Stay Matte (the best pressed powder I have ever used!) which usually keeps me matte for a good 4-5 hours, no fail, this bugger manages to somehow shine on through!

Overall-
I am not a happy bunny with this foundation, I thought better of you Maybelline.
I would rate this 4/10
This product looks lovely in the packaging but not on my face.

I hope you enjoyed my first first opinions!
Tell me in the comments if you think this is a good idea?
Until next time...

Spooktacular Tag!

Hello you beautiful people!

So I know I am posting this on 1st November and it's a Halloween tag but I only just realised I was tagged to do this and I wanted to do it for the girls who tagged me!
(I was tagged by two very beautiful girls with a Youtube channel called: OurFashion123 go check them out, subscribe, tell them I sent you!)
Now into the tag!

1. Do you still trick or treat?
Funny story really, as a child I NEVER went trick or treating, my parents just never took me (major childhood trauma!) but I have gone the past two years and I was going to go this year but then my friends decided to be boring and didn't want to go :(
But I plan to go next year!

2. Do you like going to haunted attractions?
NO! I am soo easily scared and they just scare me a little too much.

3. Favourite Halloween candy?
I don't know about a specific Halloween sweet I like but recently I've been loving NERDS (does that count?)

4. Favourite Halloween movie?
Casper! That has always been one of my favourite Halloween films it's just so cool!
And I cry every time when the girl sees her Dad is a ghost :'(

5. Favourite scary movie?
Usually I hate scary films for the same reason I don't go to haunted attractions, they just scare me too much! And especially with scary films, for AGES after I watch them I am so paranoid wherever I go.
However, recently I've been loving the film The Cabin In The Woods, I think it's the way it's very scary but it has breaks, it's not like continuously scary the whole way through, there is a good story line as well!

6. Favourite costume you ever wore as a child?
Well as I said I never used to go trick or treating but every year we would have a family Halloween party and I would ALWAYS be a witch, no fail.

7. First costume you can remember wearing?
Witch...did I not just explain, I was ALWAYS a witch haha

8. Favourite Fall food and beverage?
I don't really know what specific Autumn foods and drinks there are?
I guess for beverage I love drinking hot chocolate in the Autumn and snuggling up and getting all cosy.
As for food I guess I really love pies...does that even count as an Autumn food? But not like dessert pies, savoury ones, with vegetables in them, that's where it's at!

9. Do you have a festive background on your phone?
No but I really wish I had done now, I'm just so in love with my little collage background I never think to change it.

10. What are you going to dress up as this year?
I was going to be a red Indian girl but then my friends bailed on me so I was sad :(

11. What would Pinecone be? (or YOUR pet?)
I don't really have a pet that's mine but we do have two family cats and if I could I'd dress one of them up as a vampire and one as a unicorn...that would be SO cool!

12. What candy do you have left in your stash after you've eaten everything else?
Now here's the thing with me, I always eat the things I least like first and save best till last, I do that whenever I eat, so that last things I would have would be like Harribo or Mars or any kind of Cadbury's chocolate... (or something sherbet)

13. Do you decorate your house?
No, my family honestly just don't get into the whole Halloween thing, I didn't even have a pumpkin this year!!!!!

14. Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes or Hay-rides?
I have never been to any of these because they're all mainly American things but from what I've seen I would probably enjoy any of them (as long as it's not the haunted versions!)

15. Going to a Corn Maze, what do you wear?
Again, I don't really know because I've never been to one but I'd probably wear:

  • Black leggings
  • Some kind of warm jumper
  • Boots
  • Most likely a snood

So that was my embarrassingly late Spooktacular Tag, I hope you all enjoyed your Halloween festivities....
Now onto Christmas!

My Belly-button Piercing

Hey!

...isn't this weird? Sorry I haven't blogged in FOREVER I've just been busy doing over stuff and my main focus is always on my YouTube so between that and school (and my mild social life) blogging doesn't get a lot of time with me :(

But I am striving to start blogging more!

I received a request from someone in the comments on one of my videos (she does blogs so check her out, they're reeeally good- love4beauty2412)
She requested I do a blog post about when I got my belly button pierced so I am going to be doing just that!

When?

I got it pierced on either the 23rd or 24th July (I have a terrible memory!) on the day I broke up from school for the Summer holidays

Where?

Unfortunately because of security reasons, so on a so forth, I can't say the exact place I got it done but it was just a tattoo/piercing place near-ish where I live

Why?

I feel this might be a question some people will want to know and that it 'why on Earth would you get your belly button pierced!?' Yes, I know a lot of people don't like belly button piercings either because it makes them cringe, they think it's tacky or some people just don't like how it looks but I got it done because I think it looks soo pretty and in Summer when I'm wearing my crop tops and bralets it's nice to have it because it just looks so gad damn cute!

Pain?

For me to be honest it barely hurt, obviously I felt it happen and it did sting a bit but to be honest it can't have been too bad because I barely remember how much it did hurt. But from what I remember on a scale of 1-10 (1 being..did anything actually happen and 10 being mother of the lord! that stang like a biatch!') I'd say for me it was only about 5/10 What hurt the most was my Dad making me laugh when the needle was still through my skin -_-  haha

Overall experience?

For me the whole thing was very quick and very very exciting!
My Dad took me to the piercing place, we asked a few questions, asked when I could have it done then had about a 10 minute wait.
When I went into the actual piercing room the man told me about the risks etc. and once I had said 'yes I still want it done' I picked what colour bar I wanted (I just got a silver one with clear diamonds on both the balls)

Then he cleaned the area and marked where he was going to pierce it, he asked if I thought the placing looked alright and it was just peachy so I laid down and this is where it gets torcherous! (I'm kidding by the way)
They get out what look like scissors but on the end are two hollow circles, they clamp that around the dot previously drawn on, you take a breath in, breath out and they push through the needle (can I just say this is the moment my Dad made me laugh...while there was a huge needle resting through my belly button!)

This is what the clamp thing looks like (I think my explanation was quite spot on!)
Then they take the bar and as the slide out the needle they push in the bar and screw on the top ball. Then they put a plaster over it and you're not meant to take it off for at least 4 hours.
(After the piercing you have to sign some papers and stuff but if you're with a guardian you don't have to worry about that stuff!)

So that's about it! That was quite a long post but its just a LOT to explain but before I go there are just a few points I want to mention...
  • There is always an age restriction to when you can get pierced without parental guidance, make sure you check!
  • If you're not old enough to get it done on your own and your parents don't want you to get it then PLEASE do not get one of your older friends to go with you.
  • NEVER pierce it yourself, it's gonna hurt way more and you're bound to get an infection.
  • There is a chance that if you get it (especially while you're still growing) that the body will reject it and it will grow out.
  • Don't take the piercing out for about 6 months, I know it will seem like an eternity but if you take it out before then it won't be properly healed and it might hurt to another one in.
  • Then last but certainly not least just be careful with it, you don't wan't to get it caught on something and have it rip out do you!

Right I think that's about enough from me, I hope this helped anyone and if you have any more questions then put them in the comments and I will do another post with questions on :)

Check back here soon!
Byeee!

Butter London Wishlist

Why hello there!

So recently I discovered the wonders that are Butter London nail polishes and quickly built up a somewhat large wishlist.
I thought I would share with you what polishes I'm hoping to get soon so you can see if you want them too :)

1. Artful Dodger
Swatch by imperfectlypainted
I'm not going to lie I was actually sold more on the name and just kind of pushed myself into wanting this colour.
It is a pretty colour but wouldn't have been my first choice had it been called something else.

2. Minger
Swatch by thesugarcubeblog
Admittedly quite a funny name for a nail polish but I'm in love with this bright orange colour! Perfect to brighten up a neutral outfit.

3. British Racing Green
Swatch by alllacqueredup
AHH! This is probably the most I've ever been obsessed with a nail polish colour! I'm sorry, but are we all seeing this okay? This is the most perfect colour in the world!
This is just the bestest ever dark green and I think it has some sparkles in there aswell.
(Plus for some reason this kind of colour always reminds me of The Hunger Games)

4. Teddy Girl
Swatch by coloresdecarol
Quite shockingly I am yet to own a pretty pink nail polish (scandalous I know!) and when I saw this I thought it was the perfect light pink.

5. Jasper
Swatch by nail-loopy
This polish is from Butter London's new spring collection and I thought it was just too cute!
Again, this was one that I saw the name of and would have wanted to get no matter what colour it was haha but I actually really love this colour anyway.
Can someone tell me, though, what has the name Jasper got anything to do with Britain or London or England or anything!?

6. Cheeky Chops
Swatch by horrendouscolor
Okay so I know you're probably thinking wait, didn't she just show us a yellow nail polish?
Don't worry you're not going crazy just yet!
Yes, I did just show you a yellow polish but they are admittedly very different as the last was a very pastel shade and this is very bright and vibrant shade, so you know...don't judge!

7. Slapper
Swatch by polishedcasual
.....I'm just going to wait for everyone to understand how funny this name is.....okay have we all got it?..you in the back, what about you? Yes? okay......HAHAHA I laughed so much when I saw the name of this polish!
And aside from everything else it is such a stunning teal green colour!
OMG! In love!

Well that is my wish list over and done with, that was very long!

Know it's time for YOU to get involved (yes you!) in the comments tell me your favourite Butter London polishes whether it be one I have just mentioned, one you own or one that's on your own wish list let me know down below!

That's it for today!
Bye!

Top Tips For Getting Your Eyebrows Waxed!

Hello everyone!

About a month ago I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time so I thought I would share some of my tips and suggestions with you for when you get your eyebrows waxed.

1. First time? Go with a friend!
If it's the first time you're getting them done then you might want to take along a friend. If they've had it done before they can reassure you about what's going to happen and if they haven't then you can get it done together!

2. Don't wear makeup.
I wouldn't suggest wearing any makeup particularly on your eyes and eyebrows. Just so the person doing the waxing can see all the strays that may be lurking beneath you makeup (that sounds so gross!) Also when the hair gets ripped off it's going to leave you with some open pores for a little while so you don't want your makeup sinking in there and giving you spots around your perfect new brows!

3. Don't make plans for that day!
(I can not stress this strongly enough!)
Go to get them done on a day that you don't have anything else planned for because honestly it's a tad embarrassing walking around with red eyebrows!

4. Take something to cover your eyebrows.
This isn't a desperate one but if you have to walk or take public transport back to your house then I would recommend taking a hat, head scarf, big sunglasses etc. to cover up your eyebrows just because they are going to be really red and from experience I can tell you, you will get a few weird stares!

5. Make it as easy as possible.
Whoever is doing your eyebrows whether it be a female or male will be fully trained in what they do but if you're worried about it try not to make a big fuss because even if they are very nice (which I'm sure they will be) they may have already had a hard day and you making a fuss isn't going to earn their sympathy, it may just earn you a slap around the face! haha

6. Don't scrunch up your eyes!
Fair enough if you flinch a little when the strip is pulled off but when the strip or wax is on your eyebrows don't scrunch up your eyes because a. it may mean not all of the hairs come off properly b. it will probably just hurt more! and c. you're just wasting the persons time.

7. Don't worry!
I know I've just made the whole thing seem like a bit of an ordeal but if you just get in there, get it done and get out (after you've paid of course!) then there won't be any problems and if you've had your eyebrows threaded before I can assure you it hurts no more than that :)

Okay, so I hope I've helped some of you and if not then...sorry about that!

But if anyone is wondering whether to get their eyebrows threaded or waxed I would definitely recommend having them waxed it's quicker, it lasts longer and it really doesn't hurt as much!

RIP Drake xxx

Hello everyone.
Today's post is quite emotional for me to write because it is going to be a post about my rabbit Drake who passed away on 26th December 2012

To be honest with you I don't even remember what year it was when I got him, I guess I was too excited to take a mental note of the date.
I had really wanted a rabbit for ages and when my parents finally agreed I was so happy.
We looked around in different pet shops and finally I decided on an all black rabbit in the adoption section of Pets At Home.

He had had a previous owner and I believe was previously called Barry but I decided that wasn't the name I wanted to keep so I named him Drake (a name my family did not agree on!)
Because he already had a few owners before, when I got him he was no longer a bunny but he was as cute a any bunny would have been.

Even though he could be a bit of a monster when we let him run around the garden and then he would refuse to get back into his hut for a good 30 minutes! I love him so much and my life without him is surprisingly different.

I don't have many pictures of him, but I do have these to of him playing in the snow one year.

I don't really want to go into details into how he died, partially because we are not 100% and partially because it is too hard to relive it.
But basically it was obvious there was something wrong with him in the morning, we left because we were going to my grandparents for the day, and when we came back he had passed away.

I don't know whether I'll be getting any new pets of my own for a while but having Drake was one of the best experiences of my life so far.

R.I.P Drake,
Love you forever xxx

What To Do If You're Single On Valentine's Day (For Girls!)

Hello!

So it's getting to that time of year again where the shops are over flowing with heart shaped EVERYTHING and red roses are the main attraction at a florist.

But behind the lovey dovey exterior of Valentine's Day is the painful truth that a whole bunch of us are going to be alone on the most romantic day of the year!

But don't worry girls! You don't need a boy to have fun on Valentine's Day!

There are a lot of super fun things you can do with your girlfriends that will guarantee you more fun than squeezing yourself into an uncomfortably tight dress to look good for your special someone!

So throw away those tissues and read on to find out 3 ways that you can have fun on February 14th without a date!

1. Shopping Trip!

If you are like me, a girl who loves nothing better than shopping, then this is the perfect thing to do to keep your mind occupied!
Go out and shop to your hearts content!
Let yourself go and have a good old time until you've bought so much your arms are weighing you down to the ground!
Even if you do break the bank a bit it's a sure fire way to get you cheered up, and lets face it, it means you get loads of new stuff! Hehe!

2. Pamper Yourself!

Have your own little spa session right in the comfort of your own home!
Do your nails and have a little giggle at how funny each other looks with face packs on!
You could even get creative and make your own face packs with strawberries, bananas, oats, avocado and all sorts of goodies that you can find in your kitchen.
It's fun and will make you feel all nice and refreshed!

3. Movie Night!

Cuddle up with your best friend(s) and some tasty snacks and watch your favourite films.
If you are someone with no problems being single on Valentine's then fell free to whip out the Romantic films to get in the Valentine spirit.
But if not then I'd recommend watching a comedy that is sure to leave you laughing away into the night!
Can we take a moment to realise EVERY film I own is a kids films!

So, they are just my three ideas of fun Valentine's Day activities!

Don't worry if you are going to be single this Valentine's, trust me there are a whole lot of girls just like you, me included!

Tell me in the comments what you are doing for Valentine's Day, whether or not you have a date!
I'll probably be sat at home on Youtube!

Come back soon!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Bye!

GCSE Options!

Hello you beautiful people!
(That was really stalker of me to say!)

Sorry I haven't done a blog post in a while (bad Ellie!) I've just been a bit stuck on what to write about!

But I've thought of something which I hope you enjoy!
(I'd just like to say I got this idea from love4beauty2412 she's actually amazing so check out her blog here and click here to see her Youtube channel!)

So lets get into this!
I'm going to be talking to you about options!
Not the kind of options like, should I eat an apple or cake? Or should I have a strawberry or chocolate milkshake? (ah, the age old question!)
I'm talking about options at school for your GCSEs and if you don't know what GCSEs are they are the big tests you do at the end of year 11 and work up to for two years!

We have a few core subjects that we have to do:
English
Maths
Science
RS (Religious Eductation/Studies, it also covers Philosophy and Ethics)
PE (Physical Education)
and I think it's just at my school but it's also compulsory that we take a language.

Then I believe we get around 4 options as long as they fit into your timetable.
(are we keeping up so far!)

At the moment these are the options I'm thinking about taking:
German (as my compulsory language)
Drama
History
Dance (which I think comes under PE but I have to wait to find out)

And even though that's only really 2 options because Dance and German are in the "have to do" category I think it should fill a whole timetable because Dance takes up A LOT of time!

Oh! I forgot to mention, seeing as I'm in top set Science (no bragging intended!) I also have to do Triple Science which takes up one of my options.
Basically Triple Science just means that we will learn a bit more than lower groups because they believe we are able to cope with it.

So, to sum up in one handy little list I am hoping next year my timetable will include:
English
Maths
Triple Science
German
RS
Dance
Drama
History

I really hope I can fit in all of my options in!

Thanks for reading!
Leave any blog requests in the comments because I hate not knowing what to write about!
Come back soon!
Bye!

Bedroom Beauty Challenge Entry (January)

Hey everyone!

So if you follow Sprinkle of Glitter's blog then you might have seen that she's running a Bedroom Beauty Challenge.
Basically every month she gives a different theme and the challenge is to create a makeup look inspired by that theme!

(Go over to here blog to be involved in next months Bedroom Beauty Challenge!)
This months theme was:

Vivacious Vixen

After figuring out what a Vixen was (its a fox by the way, who knew!?) I got to looking through my makeup to see what I could use to achieve a fox-like look.
I don't know how much it looks like a fox but I think it does incorporate the colours of a fox and I also used a brown eyeliner on the top lash line to create the look of a foxes pointed ear!
I thought it was quite creative!

So without further ado...is ado really a word!?
Anyway, without further ado here is my Bedroom Beauty Challenge for January!

Most people would say that a fox is orange and I totally agree but I went for a more wearable look as opposed to a crazy orange look!

I hope you like this eyelook and if you'd like to see a tutorial of how I achieved it then leave me a comment or go over to my Youtube channel and leave me a comment on my most recent video and I will be sure to make a tutorial asap!

Thanks for reading!
Come back soon!

Wonderstruck Perfume Review

Hi!
This is my first ever blog post! Pretty exciting :)

So I thought I'd kick start my blog with a review on the Taylor Swift Wonderstruck perfume!

I received this perfume for Christmas and it has by far exceeded my expectations. This perfume is unlike any I've smelt before; it is a dense, fruity scent.
It is extremely long lasting. If I put this on first thing in the morning I can still smell it on me by the end of the day.
I have also received a lot of compliments whilst wearing this.

The packaging of this perfume is just as good as the product itself. The box has a very girly, indie look to it and reminds me so much of Taylor Swift and her style.
the bottle is purple and has a iridescent, pearl-like sheen. The lid is gold and has a similar pattern to that on the box.
I have heard mixed opinions about the charms on this bottle but personally I really like them. It has a ball of spikes, a bird and a bird cage charm, they are all gold and add that last touch to the bottle.

So that's it for me review!
I think Taylor Swift did a great job on this scent and packaging.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a sweet, long lasting scent or maybe just a pretty perfume bottle to add to their collection!

Thanks for reading my first ever blog post!
If you enjoyed this I'd love it if you came back every so often to read my posts :)
