Review- Benefit They're Real! Mascara

Hey everyone!
Okay, so I am a tiny bit apprehensive about doing this review as I think I may start a full on beauty community riot when I say...I don't like....Benefit's They're Real! Mascara
GAAAASP! Yes! I said it!
Before you all get out the curling irons and powder brushes ready to destroy me, hear me out...
It's not that the product is bad (it isn't by any means) it's just that it didn't meet my expectations from all the hype that it has received.
Let's get into detail...

Packaging:
Benefit always has cute packaging for their products and even though this isn't the cutest I've seen from them it's still pretty fierce. I love how simple it is. Just a nice muted silver bottle with the name up the front in pretty fonts. Plain, simple, but amazing.

Long lasting?:
As far as I can tell this mascara is pretty long wearing. It doesn't leave smudges all under your eyes or flaky fall out all down your face so it's all good.

Does it meet it's explanation?:
And this, unfortunately, is where Benefit has fallen down with this mascara. Don't get me wrong this mascara definitely gives a decent amount of length to my lashes but I would in no way say that this makes me look like I am wearing false lashes. Maybe I got a bad one because everyone else seems to swear blind that this is a miracle mascara but I really can't see it. If all you're looking for in a mascara is to get good length then this is a great mascara but I HAVE to have volume to my lashes otherwise I don't feel like my face is complete. So although I'm pretty sure that I'm just an eyelash snob who has to have big, bold lashes I don't think that this mascara delivers on it's false lash promise.

Overall:
So overall this is actually quite a nice lengthening mascara and I do sometimes use it as a first coat for my lashes. Benefit, I have to say, not a half bad product. I would recommend it.
Two thumbs up from me!
(I swear there is no rhyme or reason to this thumbs up/thumbs down system haha)

Bye bye beauties!

Workout!

Workout, workout, workout!
It seems recently the world has been taken storm by a craze of going to the gym, getting fit and lowering those dress sizes.
And I too, unfortunately, have become a little sucked in to the craze (as much as I usually try to steer clear of any kind of exercise haha)

So basically the story starts late December 2013, that time when we're all thinking about our New Year's resolutions and how much we're going to better ourselves in the New Year.
Well, I got to thinking 'What could be my resolution?'
Then, as I struggled to walk up only one flight of stairs it hit me like a tonne of bricks...
(Okay maybe this isn't exactly how it happened but lets just say this is a metaphor?)
'Jogging!' I thought, 'Yes, jogging will be a swell idea for a resolution, start doing it once a week and see where the regime takes you.'

So, as you can imagine I was most impressed with myself when I actually went ahead and went jogging on the second Saturday of the year (I was away on the first Saturday so don't judge me!)
It was actually very satisfying to get out there and jog, admittedly I had to stop every minute or so but apart from that I feel it went quite well.

And that's how it was born, my first ever successful New Year's resolution!

Leave a comment about whether I should do more fitness posts?

Loves and hugs!

Review- Naked Flushed Palette

OMG!
(I couldn't even start this post with a 'Hey!')
So we've all heard of Urban Decay right?
Probably heard of the primer potion and all of their other wonderful eyeshadows and eyeliners etc.
BUT this..the Naked Flused Palette is something a tad different for them, I feel. A palette containing a highlight, a bronzer and a blush.
Let me just say....it is perfect.

OK so maybe a little over dramatised but I got the Naked Flushed palette for Christmas and this baby is beautiful, so lets get in to a little more detail...

Packaging:
This is hands down one of the prettiest looking makeup pieces I own. It is a cute, compact little palette and I LOVE the bronze/gold colour scheme.

Bronzer:
I was, in a way, a little disappointed with this bronzer. I found that it was just not as pigmented as I had expected; however this could just be because the brush I use isn't of the highest quality. And, I've always been a heavy bronzer girl so when a bronzer doesn't give me that oompa-loompa glow it never seems quite right haha.
The colouring of the bronzer is really nice, it has no shimmer what so ever and doesn't leave you with orangy/muddy lines on your face, a really nice colour that blends out extremely well.
This is reasonably long lasting but I feel like if you were going to be out for a long time you might want to take this along so you could touch up which is no problem at all due to its convenient size.

Highlighter:
I love this highlight. It has the smoothest feel to it as you apply is to you skin and it is well pigmented too, it only needs a light swipe and you have a lovely shimmer.
I love the colour of the highlight too, it has a pinky tone to it which complements the blush nicely. It also has a bit of a gold shimmer to it, just everything about this highlight is beautiful.
This lasts a bit longer than the bronzer (as I find highlights usually do) so there is not much else to say about this.

Blush:
I haven't been in to wearing blush for very long but I have to admit I do like this one. It is a gorgeous dark pink colour and it gives your cheeks a really nice rosey look that you can build up if you want to. Also, as far as I can see this doesn't have shimmer in it which I like because if I already have on highlight I don't want any other shimmer on.
This lasts just around as long as the bronzer and highlight but as I said before this palette can easily be taken out with you in your bag or even a clutch (because its small).

Overall I absolutely LOVE this palette and all three products are amazing on their own or worn together.
FIVE THUMBS UP!  ....(If that's even possible)

Review- Maybelline FIT Me! Anti-shine Stick Foundation

Hey!
A few blog posts ago I did a first impressions on the Maybelline FIT Me! Anti-shine Stick Foundation.
After trying this a few more times I have a slight change of heart.
Before I get started I'm just going to say that, personally, the idea of doing first impressions reviews really aren't my cup of tea so I'm going to scrap that idea and only do reviews once I have a full understanding and opinion on the product.
Anyway, after that little ramble, on to the review!

My opinions on this product haven't changed all that much to be completely honest with you so to get a more in depth idea of this product click here.
In this review I will just be telling you how my opinions have changed since the first few times I tried it.

First of all I would like to say I think I over reacted a tiny bit on the mattifying qualities of this foundation because I said it had none what so ever and made my face shinier.
However, I am not completely taking this back because I still think that for a foundation that advertises itself to be an 'anti-shine' foundation it is rubbish and barely takes away any shine.
BUT I will take back that it makes my face shinier, I don't know why it did at the beginning but it doesn't too much any more and with a layer of my Rimmel London Stay Matte pressed powder I look matte as usual.

But that is where the good points end because Ladies and Gentlemen I have found yet another problem with this foundation!

When I apply this it seems to sink into any dry areas or 'wrinkles' and you can clearly see a very flaky area of foundation, to be honest it looks disgusting and I am yet again not impressed with you Maybelline.

So yes this has attractive packaging but that's all I can say good for it. Every other aspect is: not long lasting, low coverage, rubbish shade range, non-mattifying AND drying.

Its a thumbs down from me.

My Everyday Makeup Products

Hey everyone!
So, I don't wear makeup EVERYday but when I do I have my favourite products that I like to use...

1. First I use the Rimmel London Wake Me Up foundation. This has been my favourite foundation for almost a year now and I love it! It has good coverage but it's fairly light weight and it is very affordable.

2. Then I use the Rimmel London Stay Matte pressed powder. This is by far the most mattifying face powder I have ever used and does such a great job at keeping your face matte for a good portion of the day.

3. Then I move onto bronzer. I use the NYC Big Bold bronzing powder. I love this bronzer but be aware it can be very heavy. Personally I LOVE loads of bronzer but I know not everyone does so that is something to be aware of. Other than that it is an extremely pigmented and long wearing bronzer.

4. After bronzer I move on to highlight, arguably my favourite part of doing my makeup. I use the MAC Mineralised Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. This is more on the pricey side but it is so worth it. It is a beautiful shimmer packed golden highlight and it is very long wearing. So although this isn't the cheapest product I definitely recommend it.

5. I sometimes skip this step but when I'm feeling like it I now move on to blusher. My favourite is the Avon ideal luminous blush in soft plum. This is a dark purple shade with a hint of a tan tone coming in. It has quite a bit of shimmer in there as well so if you prefer matte blushes this isn't for you. But anyway this is a well pigmented, very affordable blush.

6. I then move onto mascara which I honestly could not live without! The first mascara I use it the Avon super shock mascara. It has a very nice thick brush and gives my lashes great length.

7. Then I use the Rimmel London Scandaleyes lycra flex mascara. I am absolutely in love with this mascara, it gives my lashes so much length and especially volume. After I've applied a few coats of this my lashes look huge and so fake which I looove. This is my most highly recommended mascara.

8. Then to quite simply finish off my makeup I just apply some Vaseline. I don't often wear any colour on my lips so I use Vaseline to moisturise my lips and give them a bit of gloss.

So that is my everyday makeup routine, as I said I don't wear makeup everyday but when I do these are the products I generally find myself reaching for and I highly recommend them all.

If you would like to see an actual tutorial to show you how I apply all of they products then leave me a comment and I will do a video on my YouTube: BellesBeautyChannel

First Opinions- Maybelline FIT Me! Anti-shine Stick Foundation

Hey there!
So I thought I'd start doing a new thing, whenever I get a new product ( makeup, skincare etc.) I will write a blog post on my first opinions after I've used it once or twice, then I can go on to do a full review when I've used up quite a lot of it.
Good idea?
I hope so!

My first first opinions is going to be on the Maybelline FIT Me! Anti-shine Stick Foundation!
Okay so very first thing I notice, the name is a mouthful! But that's not really relevant haha

Packaging-
It's very sleek and fancy looking (partly the reason why I bought it!)

Shade-
I am in the shade 115 Ivory and it matches my skin tone pretty well.

Quantity-
You get a decent amount and I reckon this will last me for a while.

Coverage-
I knew this foundation wasn't meant to be the highest coverage but I guess I didn't quite understand how light coverage it was going to be, definitely not a foundation made to give you flawless skin.

Long lasting?-
This is reasonably long lasting for the fact it's not a foundation made to last a super duper long time, I can't really tell how long it fully stays for though.

Does it meet it's explanation?-
So far I am seeing ZILCH happening on the anti-shine promise. I put this on and if anything I am twice as shiny. I am pretty sure the point of this foundation is that you don't have to use  a powder and it has it built in...not too sure that's true.
Even when I apply my Rimmel Stay Matte (the best pressed powder I have ever used!) which usually keeps me matte for a good 4-5 hours, no fail, this bugger manages to somehow shine on through!

Overall-
I am not a happy bunny with this foundation, I thought better of you Maybelline.
I would rate this 4/10
This product looks lovely in the packaging but not on my face.

I hope you enjoyed my first first opinions!
Tell me in the comments if you think this is a good idea?
Until next time...
-Belle xoxo
